  BRUBACHER, Emma Katherine Died peacefully, in her sleep, on Saturday, March 14, 1998, at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener, age 97 years. Emma was born February 1, 1901 in Parry Sound (Rye), Ont., a daughter of the late August and Mary Haufschild. She came with her family to Kitchener in 1917 where she met and married Wilbur Brubacher in 1920. He predeceased her in 1974. She was the loving mother of Lorne (Vivyan) of Kitchener, Howard (Teresa) of Nova Scotia, Russell (Barbara) of Cambridge, Evelyn Mansz (Edward) of Kitchener and Wayne (Sylvia) of Mannheim; grandmother of 16, great-grandmother of 27 and great-great-grandmother of three; sister of Mabel Elsley and Edna Poll. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Ethel; a sister, Irene Wismer and a granddaughter, Diane (Brubacher) Gusset in Switzerland. Emma was a charter member of Christ The King United Church, a member of the choir and had enjoyed her involvement in church choirs most of her life. She was a lifetime member of Centreville Women's Institute, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Sunnyside Home, the Happy Harmonicas and was a tireless volunteer in church and other community organizations. Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St W., Kitchener today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Christ The King United Church, 167 Thaler Ave., Kitchener on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
