    • Death Of Mrs. Erie Currie - A well-known former resident of North Dumfries, Mrs. A. Erie Currie of Galt passed away in South Waterloo Memorial Hospital early Wednesday morning. The former Beatrice Kathleen White, she was born in Dublin, Ireland, and came to this area in 1913. She graduated as a nurse from the former Galt General Hospital in 1924. Following her marriage, the couple farmed on the Greenfield Road for many years prior to moving to Galt about a year ago. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Galt. Surviving, besides her husband, are two brothers, Patrick and Robert, both in England.

      - The Funeral -

      Funeral service was conducted by Dr. David Gowdy at Little's Funeral Home, Galt, on Saturday afternoon with interment in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Joseph Hodgson, Leonard Bugdale, Hugh C. Elliott, Robert E. Ford, August Lisso and John T. Taylor.
