  Mrs. J. Allan Edgar Passes - Funeral service for Mrs. James A. Edgar, late of 51 McNaughton St., Galt, was held Friday from the T. Little & Son Ltd. Funeral Home, Galt, to Ayr Cemetery for interment. Rev. Dr. J. D. Smart officiated and the pallbearers were Harry Taylor, William, Morton and James Edgar, Morton Guthrie and Angus, Ainslie. The late Mrs. Edgar was found dead in bed the previous Wednesday when police broke into the house following information from neighbors. Coroner Jas. McQueen considered she had probably been dead for a month. A daughter, Miss Maud McCormick, Eramosa Rd., was notified. The family formerly lived in South Dumfries on the farm later occupied by Thompson Kilgour. The Ayr News Jun 23 1938 _________________ EDGAR, CHRISTINE "CHRISTY" (Nee McCormick) The body of Mrs. Christine Edgar, 72 year old widow, was found in her home, 51 McNaughton St. in Galt, on Wednesday, June 15, 1938. Mrs. Edgar had not been seen since May 13 and a sister, Mrs. Harry Taylor, living a few doors away, thought she was in the country visiting relatives. Yesterday, she learned differently and her husband notified police, who forced an entrance. Her body was in bed, attired in night clothes. Coroner McQueen said he believed she had been dead a month, having passed away in her sleep. A daughter, Miss Maude McCormick, lives near Guelph. -Information from Knox Presbyterian Church of Crieff baptism records: B. Jan. 15, 1864, daughter of Angus McCormick and Barbara Blair, residing on the Gore of Puslinch. -Information from the marriage certificate: On July 1, 1908, she married James Allan Edgar.
