    • Death of John Vander - Was Resident of Blenheim Township for 35 Years - The death occurred in Blenheim Township on Sunday at midnight of John Vander, aged 72 years. Deceased was stricken with a stroke about three months ago, since which time? he had been in declining health. He was born in Lanark County in 1853 and removed to Blenheim Township about 35 years ago. He worked at his trade of carpenter for a great many years, but took up farming some 24 years ago. He located on the farm on which he died about 17 years ago. His wife, whose maiden name was Sarah Ann Aikens, predeceased him 6 years. Of a quiet and retiring nature, deceased was esteemed as a good neighbor and friend, and his demise will be regretted by a wide acquaintanceship. He was a Methodist in religion, being a member of the Ayr Church. He is survived by two brothers, viz.: George of Vancouver; James of Emmett, Idaho; also three sons and one daughter, viz.: Miss Cora, of Sarnia; Alfred, of Drumbo; Chester and Emory at home.
