  MRS. HARRY STEEL SR. PRESTON, Sept. 11— Mrs. Harry Steel, Sr., a resident of Preston for the past 28 years, died at her residence at 8 o'clock last evening following an illness of seven months. Mrs. Steel, during her many years of residence in the municipality, had formed a large circle of friends and word of her passing was received with regret. Born in Northampton, England, deceased came to Canada in 1888 and was married in Sherbrooke Street Methodist Church, Montreal, in February, 1888, to Harry Steel. Residing in that city until 1901, they took up residence in central New York State. Returning to Canada in 1905, they lived in Quebec City until 1914, when they came to Preston, making their home here since that time. On Feb. 22, 1938, Mr. and the late Mrs. Steel marked their golden wedding anniversary. Deceased was a member of the Preston United Church. Surviving is her husband, one daughter, Mrs. J. R. Panabaker, Preston: f our sons, Major H. W. Steel, Camp Borden, Fred Steel, Preston, Ralph Steel, Kitchener and Bert Steel, Galt. One daughter, Florence, predeceased her in June, 1935. Remains are resting at the residence, 866 Queen Street, Preston, from where the funeral will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 2: 30 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
