  Mrs. Percy Hilborn PRESTON Mrs. Gertrude P. Hilborn, wife of Percy R. Hilborn, Concession Rd, South, Preston, died Sunday at Victoria Hospital, London, Ont., after a lengthy illness. Born in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Walter Wells and Rosina Roos, Mrs. Hilborn attended the Waterloo and Kitchener schools, Havergal College and studied music in Germany. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Kitchener and served on the church board for many years. In Preston Mrs. Hilborn assisted many local welfare organizations, especially during the war years. She was a past president of the Preston IODE. With a keen interest in music she assisted in the organization of the Galt and Preston Community Concert Association, which she sponsored in Preston for many years. She was active in Little Theatre work during the early years of the western Ontario organization. She was a member of the Chautauqua Women's Club. She was also a member of the Ancaster Golf Club. Surviving are her husband, two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Paul (Helen) Bridle of Ottawa and Elinor of Montreal; Richard of Preston and John of Montreal and a brother, Lyman S. Wells of San Francisco, Calif. A private funeral service will be held at the residence in Preston Tuesday afternoon. Kitchener-Waterloo Record 30 Mar 1953 pg 5
