Passed away suddenly at his home in Wellesley on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Ed and Marjorie had farmed at R.R. #2, Wellesley for many years and he also drove truck for Erb Transport for 50 years. He was born 73 years ago in Wellesley Township and was the son of the late Samuel and Lydia (Wagler) Erb. Beloved husband of Marjorie (Steckly) Erb with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage. Dear father of Julie Albrecht and Ken Snider of Nithburg; Warren Erb and Shirley Burrell of Wellesley; Darwin and Kelly Erb of Monkton; and Jason and Buffey Erb of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Natasha (Solomon), Stehpanie (Dharsh), Nathan (Amanda), Jacqueline, Victoria, Kimberly, Trevor, Nichole, Derek, Taylor and Josh. Loving brother and brother-in-law of Vera Koehler of Kitchener; Vernon and Viola Erb of Baden; Erma and Craig Bisset of Kitchener; Doris Steckly of Milverton; Don Gerber of Brunner; Isabel and Jim Mullett of Ohio; Elsie Kuepfer of Cambridge; Nancy and Mike Sabo of Kitchener; Norman and Marlene Steckly of Milverton; Joanne and Ralph Gerber of Shakespeare; Ron and Linda Steckly of Gould Lake; Marilyn and Mike Cleland of Stratford; and Robert and Cheryl Steckly of Lucan. Ed was predeceased by brothers-in-law Fred Koehler, Stan Steckly, Levi Kuepfer and sister-in-law Doreen Gerber. Ed was a member of Riverdale Mennonite Church, Millbank. He enjoyed playing hockey and watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. Ed had great delight in taking his antique International tractors to many local tractor pulling contests and loved travelling in his R.V. friends. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. and again Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Mapleview Mennonite Church, Wellesley with Pastor Jim Brown officiating. A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow immediately after the service and the interment after at Riverdale Mennonite Cemetery, Millbank. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Riverdale Mennonite Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
