    • MRS. WM. H. EWALD DIES FROM SHOCK RECENT ACCIDENT

Succumbed To Shock Late Wednesday Afternoon In Galt Hospital; Inquest Considered Improbable, Police Say

Shock of a recent accident, proved too much for Mrs. William H. Ewald and resulted in her death at the Galt General Hospital, late yesterday afternoon. Her sudden passing came with profound regret to her many friends. The late Mrs. Ewald was in her 61st year, insofar as can be learned from police no inquest will be held. Born at Bright Ont., the late Mrs. Ewald lived there until 14 years ago when she came to Preston. Her husband is well known locally, being manager of the Hespeler Sled and Wagon company, Hespeler. The deceased was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church and was an untiring worker in its interests. She was predeceased by her mother a year ago and also by one son, Cecil and one daughter, Vera. There survives, besides her husband, one son, Martin and one daughter, Mrs. Howard Harper, all of Preston. A brother, Robert Henderson, also resides in town. The funeral will take place from her late residence at 139 Dover street, Saturday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. Rev. W. H. Knauff will officiate at the services. Interment will be made in Preston cemetery. Tuesday night Mr. and Mrs. Ewald were motoring home and when near Speedsville the car in charge of her husband took to the ditch. It is understood that the accelerator jammed. Mrs. Ewald sustained painful injuries about the face, head and body, while Mr. Ewald also suffered painful lacerations to his hand.
