      PRESTON, Feb. 23 --- Ailing for sometime and seriously ill for a month, Alvena L. Golem, 43, wife of John Albert Heimbecker, died at the K. W. Hospital, yesterday. Born in Chesley, Mrs. Heimbecker had lived in Preston for the past 15 years. She came here from Stratford and prior to that resided in Hanover. The late Mrs. Heimbecker was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, a member of the Women's Bible class and at the time of her death was the secretary-treasurer of the Ladies Aid Society. She was also a member of Queen Rebekah Lodge and a past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs. She is survived by her husband; her mother, Mrs. Albert Sligger of Desboro; one daughter, June and one son, Ardel, both at home: two sisters, Mrs. Carling West of Mooresburg and Mrs. Kendal Stanborough of Elmwood; one brother, Driver George Golem with the Canadian Army, overseas. Two daughters predeceased her. The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Ltd. Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 at 2.30 p.m. Interment will be in Preston Cemetery.
