      Formerly of Middle Street, Cambridge, on Monday, Sept. 16, 1991, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in her 89th year. Alice Currie, beloved wife of the late David Cowing. Dear mother of Walter and his wife Lillian, Vernon and his wife Marie, Ronald and his wife Bonnie of Cambridge, James and his wife Ellen of Millgrove. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jessie McDougal of Alberta and a special friend, George Hinton of Philipsburg. Predeceased by a son, Lloyd. Mrs. Gowing was born in Manitoba and was a resident of Cambridge (Preston) for 18 years. A member of King Street Baptist Church, charter member of Women Of The Moose Lodge, founding member of the William Anderson School for the Mentally Handicapped. Friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, (today) Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at King Street Baptist Church. Cambridge, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment in Parklawn cemetery.
