    • Herbert Hanson

      PRESTON, Herbert Hanson, 73, well-known Preston resident, for 40 years, died at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, last night. Mr. Hanson had been hospitalized since last June and had been seriously ill for two weeks. A native of Wyke, Yorkshire, England, he came to Canada in 1913, residing for a short time at Brantford add then making his home in Preston. A veteran of the First World War, he was a member of the Preston Legion. He was also a member of St. John's Anglican Church. Prior to his illness, he was stockkeeper at the Royal Metal Company, Galt. Surviving are his wife, Helen Hemmings and a daughter, Mrs. A. (Ethel) Groves of Preston; a brother, Arthur and a sister, Ethel, both in England. A son, George Henry Hanson, was killed in the Second World War, in 1942. The body is at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home. The funeral will he held at St. John's Anglican Church, Wednesday, at 11 a.m., with interment in Preston Park Lawn Cemetery.
