Tragically. as the result of an accident on Halloween. Matthew passed away peacefully, with his family and friends at his side, at the McMaster Medical Centre on Saturday, November 1, 2003, at the age of 12. Matt Block of Cambridge, is the cherished son of Kelly and Bob Brook, dear brother of Jenny, Steve, Kevin, Andrew and Caitie, friend of Brent and dear grandson of Ellen and Denis Case, Dennis and Patricia Flood, Stanley (Barney) and Evelyn Brook. He will also be sadly missed by his great aunts and uncles. Loved nephew of Sherry and Doug, Leslie and Rodney and their children, Nicole and Alexander, Christopher, Debbie and Jerry and Dave and Denise. Special friend of Keith, Lena, Zeo, and Matthew Bennett, Ted and Joe Gibbons, Doreen Brown and Lloyd Stewart. and all of his many friends and their families. Matt was a student at St. Joseph's School in Cambridge and he enjoyed playing left wing, with Hespeler Minor Hockey. Matthew loved his school and was an aspiring chef, who shared his passion for cooking with all who knew him. We wish to thank all those who have given us their love and support and we offer our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, McMaster Medical Centre and specifically, Dr. Holly Smith, Nancy Fram and Chaplain Steve. We were comforted to know that Matthew gave the gift of life to seven families through organ donation. Matthew will be sadly missed by all who knew him. It was a great joy and honor to have shared 12 years with him. Friends will be received on Tuesday (today) and Wednesday, from 6-9 p.m., at Little's Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 223 Main Street East, Cambridge. Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at St. Clement's RC Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge, on Thursday, November 6, 2003, at 10 a.m. A Parish Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, at 7 p.m. Cremation to follow.
