On Sunday, October 21, 2007, Alexander George McMillan, passed away peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. Alex was born on March 6, 1924, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is survived by his loving wife, Doreen: daughter, Deb Westacott and her husband Paul: granddaughters, Laura and Elizabeth and sister, Wind (Bruce). Also remembered fondly by sister-in-law, Kathleen and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister, Patricia and brother, Arthur. Alex attended Centennial High School in Winnipeg. Following graduation, he pursued a career in sales with Canada Packers. Throughout his life, he worked for different companies in sales; most notably in Kitchener as the branch manager of Case Power & Equipment, where he was eventually promoted to manager, in the City of Industry California. He was also active with the WaWa Shriners Temple in Regina, where he took a special interest in helping children during the annual Shrine Circus. Throughout his life, Alex remained an active member of The North West Commercial Travellers Association. The family would like to give special thanks to all the nursing and medical staff, who have cared for our dear Papa throughout his long illness. Also, we would like to thank Para Med Services, for their conscientious home care. A celebration of Alex's life, will take place at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge on Friday, October 26, 2007, at 2 p.m., with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment Parklawn Cemetery.
