Notes - BICKFORD, Albert Wayne - After a courageous battle with ALS, Albert passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 25, 2008. Albert was known for his positive attitude and unfailing smile during his struggle with this disease. He was born on July 27, 1949 on Bell Island, Newfoundland. Beloved husband of 36 years to Judy, loving father of Tracy Boeckner (Isaac) and Lindsay (Charles), and devoted grandfather to Simon, who lit up his life. Predeceased by parents Ambrose and Susan. Survived by his six siblings, Edna Dick (Robert), Victoria BC, Douglas (Wilma), Miller Lake ON, Rhonda Warren (David), Cambridge ON, Melvin (Ruby), Cambridge ON, Myles, Cambridge ON, Sylvia, Cambridge ON. He worked for over 40 years at local furniture businesses, specifically R&T Furniture and Grant & Blackwell. Albert's family will receive relatives and friends at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, 519-621-1650 on Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. for visitation and the celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Salvation Army. Respecting Albert's wishes, cremation and interment will take place at a later date. Thank you to all who supported us through Albert's illness. Albert felt very blessed to know that he was loved and his family was cared for. Special thanks to his care workers Tina, Sandy and Melissa. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the ALS Society of Ontario or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
