Notes - Hans Banz - After a two year courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness our family announces Hans's passing at Lisaard House, Thursday, June 4, 2009 in his 66th year. Beloved husband of Lavonne (Devine). Loving father to Christine (Dave) Wilson and Michael (Jaime). Special grandpa to Brian, Christopher, Aaron and Jenna. Cherished son of Edeltraut Kozlowski (Zygmunt). Hans's family will receive friends and family on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday afternoon at 1 pm with interment following at New Hope Cemetery. We gratefully thank the doctors and staff at the Juravinski Centre in Hamilton, and the Medical Daycare and the Fifth Floor Oncology Unit at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their support. Also Elaine and Pat from CCAC and Julia of Care Partners for their daily in-home visits. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses, staff and volunteers at Lisaard House for their love, compassion, humor and exceptional care of Hans and us during his final journey. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Lisaard House.
