Ontario Provincial Police report that a 1986 Mercury Topaz travelling north, driven by 78-year old Ludwik Ziemski of 205 Main St. East in Cambridge, crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a 1982 Dodge van. Both Ziemski and his 89-year old wife, Krystyna, a passenger in the car, were killed in the accident which occured, at 3: 25 p.m. The Ziemskis were on their way to visit a daughter and son-in-law in Wiarton, when the accident occurred, a neighbor who lives in the other half of the duplex said. Mr. Ziemski retired 11 years ago from Joy Manufacturing Ltd., said Ruth James of 205 Main St. E. Both he and his wife were born in Poland and had returned from a trip to their native land, about three weeks ago "It was an awful shock," said James, who has lived beside the Ziemski’s for 10 years. Both were members of the Cambridge chapter of the Polish Alliance of Canda and the Galt Legion branch. Mrs. Ziemski was a nurse in the Polish Army and her husband was a captain.
