      Born May 12, 1925 in Wilno Poland, died on April 25, 2005 in Cambridge, Ontario. Jan is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Yolanta (nee Wyganowski) Jagiellowicz and his beloved family; daughters, Jadiza, Danka (David Van Dyke), Iwonka; and sons Janek (Dorothy McCabe) and Adam; in addition to his five grandchildren and many nieces and nephew, in Canada and Poland. He was also survived by his older brother, Romuald (Genie) and younger sister, Jadiza in Poland. Predeceased by his parents, Antoni and Albina; his younger brother, Piotr and younger sister, Teresa, All of Poland. A veteran of the Second World War, Jan served in the Polish Army, First Division and he was an active member of the Royal Can. Legion, Galt Branch 121, for many years. Following the war, Jan emigrated from England to Canada in 1953. He originally settled in Lethbridge, Alberta and later moved to Galt, Ontario. Jan was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed canoeing, hiking and fishing. He thoroughly relished the time spent camping with his children, at their property near, Round Lake, Ontario. As well, he enjoyed spending time discussing politics and painting as well as reading with his many friends and family throughout his life. Devoted husband, loving father and friend to many, Jan will be deeply missed. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where friends will be received on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion, Galt Branch 121 will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, at 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, at 8: 30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at St. Patricks RC Church, Wellington Street, Cambridge, on Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
