- BEKE, Mary - Suddenly at her home on Tuesday, August 8, 2000, Mary Beke; in her 82nd year. Born in Owen Sound, September 2, 1918. Daughter of the late Rose and Frank Beke. She resided on the Homestead Farm, RR #4, Cambridge. Loving sister of brothers Louis (Eve deceased), Anthony (Barb), Alex (Jean deceased), Frank (Shirley), Joseph (Dorothy), Charles (Eileen, all of Cambridge and sister of Irene Brine of London; loved and survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Margaret (1994). Mary lived her formative years in Holland Landing attending Bradford Secondary School and moved to the Cambridge (Galt) area in 1937. During the Second World War years was employed at the Aircraft Plant in Brantford and also worked at Firth-Brown Tools until her retirement. Friends will be received at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland Street, Ayr on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm where funeral service will be held on Friday, August 11 at 10:30 am, Father Tim Cuny, OSA of St. Gregory Parish, Cambridge officiating. Interment Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge. Following the service a luncheon will be held at Homestead Farm. 1171 Beke Road. Parish prayers Thursday at 8:30 pm.
