    • MIDGLEY, George Harold (MD) - At the Sterling Heights Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, February 29, 2004, in his 80th year.

      He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, Margaret Helene (nee McPhie); his daughter, Barbara Margaret and her husband, Dr. James M. Kavanagh, of Cambridge; a son, Dr. Robert H. Midgley and his wife Reta of Waterloo and by his four loving grand-children, Jeffrey, Theresa (Teri) and Douglas Kavanagh, and Alison Midgley. He was predeceased by his son, Gordon Frank Midgley in 1982. He will be sadly missed by his two sisters, Margaret McCallum and Christine Krull, both of Cambridge.

      Dr. Midgley graduated with his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1939. He served almost five years with the Royal Canadian Medical Corps in Britain, Sicily and North West Europe. In Cambridge, he practiced medicine (including anaesthesia) for thirty-five years. He was a member of Knox's Galt Presbyterian Church, where he was active as an elder, he was a "Big Brother", and he served with Telecare Canada and was a member of Probus Club of Cambridge.

      Friends will be received at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews St., Cambridge (www.funeralscanada.com) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at Knox's Galt Presbyterian Church, 2 Grand Avenue South, Cambridge on Wedneday March 3, 2004. (For the time please call the funeral home at 621-1650). Interment Mount View Cemetery.

      In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
