  Died, In Ayr, on Wednesday, December 15th, 1886, John Goodfellow, Aged 65 years. The Funeral Will take place on Friday, 17th inst., at 1 o'clock p m., from his late residence, Hall St, to the place of interment, New Cemetery, Ayr. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited. Ayr, Dec. 16th, 1886. Waterloo Historical Society Death Notices Collection - photocopies ___________ Death of Mr. John Goodfellow, Of Ayr We very much regret to learn of the death of our old friend, Mr. John Goodfellow, which took place in Ayr on Wednesday afternoon last. As all his old acquaintances are aware, Mr. Goodfellow has suffered for many years from an affection of his heart, and about fourteen years ago he retired from farming on that account and took up his residence in Ayr. Although slowly failing under the attacks of the insidious disease under which he labored, he was able to get about, being out the day before or the day of his death, however, we believe that on the afternoon of Wednesday he was found lying on the floor of his residence quite dead, having apparently passed quietly and peacefully away. Mr. Goodfellow was too well known to require word's at our hands. He was a quiet, cheerful, unassuming man, who discharged his duties, in the circle in which he lived, uprightly and with great friendliness of heart. The burden of ill health which he bore for so many years sadden his life, but he bore his sufferings bravely. Galt Reporter Dec 17 1886 pg 1
