    • Richard Gingrich was born November 13, 1866 in Canada to Mr. and Mrs. David Gingrich.

      He first married Sarah "Sally" Lacy. Richard and Sally Gingrich are the parents of William Lacy Gingrich.

      After the death of Sally Gingrich, he married Nancy Annie Andrew, a daughter of Robert Walter Andrew and Sarah Elizabeth Bugg Andrew on Thursday, June 15, 1899 in Morgan County, Alabama.

      The children of Richard and Nancy Gingrich are Alvin R. Gingrich, Mable Gingrich, Irene Gingrich, Theodore Gingrich and Walter Gingrich.

      Mr. Gingrich was employed by the Louis & Nashville Railroad for many years, worked for a cotton mill and was a missionary.

      Mr. Gingrich died at his home on Sunday, January 30, 1944 at 1819 7th Avenue East, Decatur, Alabama, at the age of 77.

      Funeral services at Decatur City Cemetery were held for him on Tuesday, February 1, 1944.
