- This hotel is one of the best known and most popular west of Toronto. It is well furnished and heated by steam so that every room is comfortable, even in the coldest weather, and is prominently situated on South Water street, just opposite the post office, and close to the business part of the town. The house was built in 1882 by the Imperial Hotel Co., and was opened by Mr. Isadore Eby and has always been highly popular. It is a substantially four-storey brick building containing 48 large airy bedrooms, six parlor and sitting rooms, six large sample rooms for use of commercial travellers, and a fully equipped billiard room. The large dining room has a seating capacity of 80 guests in comfort. The cuisine is not surpassed by that of any which is ample evidence of the great care taken by Mr. Graham, or as he is best known as George. The name Imperial is just what the hotel is in every respect. Rates $1.50 and $2.00 per day.
