- VICTOR, Ruth Marjorie (nee Brubacher) Formerly of Lorne Crescent, Kitchener, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Ruth Victor was in her 92nd year. She was the loving mother of Marjorie Baer and her husband David of Glencoe, and Ross Victor and his wife Eleanor of Kitchener. She is survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Audrey and the late Edward Draves of West Seneca, New York, James Brubacher and his wife Lori of Kitchener, Dorothy Bast and her husband Harold of Kitchener, Alice Martens and her husband David of Waterloo and brothers-in-law Russel Meyer and Friedman Steinke of Kitchener. Predeceased by parents Eugene and Ida Brubacher, sisters Kathleen Steinke, Reta and her husband Orie Bender, Wilma Meyer and brother Kenneth. Ruth worked for 25 years before retiring from the Mutual Life Assurance Co. in Waterloo. After retiring she loved to travel and work in her garden. Ruth's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1-1: 45 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in the chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Gary Knarr of First Mennonite Church officiating. Interment First Mennonite Cemetery followed by a reception. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or First Mennonite Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
