    • Death of Mrs. Annie Brown

      The death occurred on Thursday of Annie Dryden, dearly beloved wife of James Brown, Cedar Creek road. The late Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dryden, and had resided in North Dumfries township all her life.

      Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roy Marshall (Annie), Galt and Mrs. Hugh Poll (Edith), Ayr; two sons, Walter, at home, and George of Ayr; four sisters, Mrs. J. Campbell, Winnipeg; Mrs. M. Rogers, Galt; Mrs. R. Connolly, Toronto; Miss Edith Dryden, Ayr; three brothers, Andrew Dryden, Galt; Alvin Dryden, Ayr, and Clarence Dryden, Toronto; and eight grandchildren. The late Mrs. Brown was predeceased by one son, James, killed on active service in World War II.

      Funeral service was conducted by the Rev. W. J. Walker of Knox's Presbyterian Church, Galt, from the Harold Gray Funeral Home, Galt, on Saturday afternoon. Pallbearers were: George Sandilands, Robert G. Brown, Swan Taylor, Adrian McConnell, Erle Currie and Walter Dryden. Interment took place in Ayr Cemetery.
