  GERBER, Daniel R. -- Suddenly, on Saturday, March 8, 1980, at his residence, Mr. Daniel R. Gerber, age 74 years of 308 Jacob St., New Hamburg, and formerly of Poole and Route 1, Brunner. He was a member of Poole Mennonite Church. Beloved husband of the former Idella Zehr, and dear father of mother of Audrey (Mrs. Paul Schiegel) of Route 1, Tavistock. Eileen (Mrs. Orlin Yantzi) of Route 1, Sebringville, and Viola (Mrs. Lorne Gerber) of Route 1 New Hamburg. Two sons predeceased him in infancy. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, three brothers, David of Union Town, Ohio, Amos of Route 2, Hepworth, and Solomon of Brunner, and one sister Elizabeth (Mrs. Rudy Nafziger) of New Hamburg. He was predeceased by his parents the late Daniel B. Gerber and the former Rachel Ropp, and one brother Moses. The late Mr. Gerber is resting at the Omand- Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, until noon Tuesday March 11, when removal will be made to Poole Mennonite Church for the service and committal at 2: 30 p.m., with Rev Amsey Martin officiating. Spring interment in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Ontario Heart Foundation or the Mennonite Central Commit- The Kitchener-Waterloo Record 9 Mar 1980 ____________________ Gerber, Daniel R., son of Daniel B. and Rachel (Ropp) Gerber, was born in Minnesota on Aug. 21, 1905; died suddenly at his home in New Hamburg, Ont., Mar. 8, 1980; aged 74 y. On Nov. 20, 1934, he was married to Idella Zehr, who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters (Audrey-Mrs. Paul Schlegel, Eileen-Mrs. Orlan Yantzi, and Viola-Mrs. Lorne Gerber), one sister (Elizabeth-Mrs. Rudy Nafziger), and 3 brothers (David, Amos, and Solomon). He was preceded in death by 2 sons in infancy and one brother (Moses). He was a member of Poole Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held Mar. 11, in charge of Amsey Martin; interment in Poole Mennonite Cemetery.
