  EAGLE, ELLEN (Nee Congo) At the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Baker in Windsor, on Monday, February 13, 1928. Relict of Elijah Eagle. Mrs. Eagle was born 84 years ago in the township of Beverly, the daughter of Major Congo. She spent her early girlhood and womanhood in that township and Galt. In 1870, she married Mr. Eagle and after their retirement from the farm in Puslinch, they lived in Hespeler for a number of years. On the death of Mr. Eagle twenty years ago, Mrs. Eagle went to live at the home of her daughter. Survived by J. Marvin of Puslinch; Mrs. Wellington Ellis of Gilbert Plains, AB; David of Windsor; and Mrs. Baker; the two former being step-children. Funeral from the Canadian Pacific Railway Depot at Galt to the Hespeler Cemetery at 2: 30 on Thursday, Jan. 16th. Services were conducted by Rev. H. L. Merner of the United Church. Pallbearers: William Little, J. Marvin Eagle, J. W. Parks, W. Hortop and William Eagle of Hespeler; and James Eagle of Preston. -Information from the death certificate: Born in Wentworth County on July 31, 1843, daughter of Samuel Congo and May Anne Main. Died on February 13, 1928 at#1 Erie Apartments in Windsor, when pneumonia set in, after she suffered a fractured hip.
