  HERBERT THOMSON Formerly of Galt and Ayr, Herbert Thomson passed away at his home In Shoal Lake, Man., recently. Mr. Thomson was the oldest son of the late Frank Thomson and Elizabeth Cress. He was in his 65th year. Mr. Thomson learned his trade as a barber in Ayr with Richard Gemmell. He left Galt in 1904 and was married in Ayr in 1905. Married twice, his first wife, Mary Fraser, of Ayr, passed away in 1910 and their son, Fraser, died in 1912. Surviving are his wife, the former Saby Hunter; two sons, Murray of Seven Sisters, Man., and Homer, overseas: two daughters, Mrs. Geo. Anson of Pine Falls, Man., and Miss Doris of Winnipeg; two brothers, Claude of Deseronto, Ont., and Hugh of Newdale, Man.; two sisters, Mrs. Isabel McTavish and Mrs.. Janet Ca!dwell of Galt. A brother, Cameron, of Kingston died 20 month ago, and another brother, Homer, was killed in 1918 in the First Great War. The funeral service was held at Shoal Lake, Man.
