  Adolph Friedrich Ehrhardt Schmidt, having learned in his native Hannover in Germany the then more or less related trades of Carpenter and Cabinet Maker, was here, aged 25, on the tenth day of May, 1851, and here worked as a carpenter until old age overtook him and he was called to his fathers on February 5th, 1909. The considerable block of land adjoining his house west of Harvey Street, he subdivided into lots, the deeds for some of which I have myself drawn. He was a soft-spoken fine old Gentleman. Le Rue De Commerce, Other Times Other Customs Other Days Other Ways, Winfield Brewster 1954 __________________ Died In Hespeler, on Friday, February 5th, 1909. at 1 o'clock P.M., Adolph Schmidt. Aged 84 years, 3 months and 8 days. Funeral Will take place from his late residence, Queen Street, where services will be held, on Monday, Feb'y 8th, at 2 o'clock p.m., to Hespeler Cemetery for interment.
