Notes |
- Death of Henry Dahmer - The community was shocked on Tuesday to learn of the sudden death of Mr. Henry Dahmer at his home of the Gravel Road. He had been in town in the forenoon and was in apparent good health. After dinner he laid down for a short rest and when members of the family called him they found that he had passed away, heart failure being the cause of his sudden demise. The late Mr. Dahmer was in his 48th year and was a son of the late Henry Dahmer of North Easthope, where he was born and where he spent his whole life. He farmed for a short time on the homestead and about twenty years ago moved onto his present farm on the Gravel Road. He was a faithful member of Lingelbach's Evangelical Church and was highly esteemed in the community and much sympathy is felt for his wife and family in their sad and sudden bereavement. His wife was formerly Miss Sarah Brown, of Mildmay, besides whom he leaves five children, Ella, Mary, Roy, Rosetta and Helen, all at home. The eldest son, Elmer, was killed in action in the late European war. He is also survived by one brother and five sisters: Mr. John Dahmer and Mrs. David Reibling, of New Hamburg, and Mrs. George Voll, Mrs. Charles Ebeling and Mrs. Chris. Ruby, of Elkton. Mich. The funeral will be held this Friday forenoon to Lingelbach's Church and Cemetery.
