  Mrs. James Brydon - This old and respected resident of Waterloo died on Monday morning last, after a long and painful illness. The deceased lady was born in Scotland and married there, coming to Canada in 1842, settling in Waterloo, 40 years ago, on the farm where she died. Her family consisted of ten children, seven sons and three daughters, the first bread by death in the family occurring when Mr. John Brydon met with the lamentable accident by the run-away team in Galt about three years ago. The other members of the family are Mr. James Brydon, of Puslinch, Mr. Francis Brydon, of Hanover, Mr. William Brydon, Blair Road, Mr. Robert Brydon, of Guelph township, and the two younger sons, who with three daughters are residing on the homestead. The respect in which the family is held bears the strongest testimony to the worth of the lady of whom we write. Occupying a position of prominence they hold the esteem of the community, and are deservedly regarded with feelings of confidence. The sympathy of the community for them and the aged father who has lost his partner in life, is heartily accorded. The funeral on Wednesday was very numerously attended. Mrs. Brydon was interred in Doon cemetery. Galt Reporter Mar 2 1883 pg 1 __________ Died, In Waterloo Township, this (Monday) morning, at 8 o'clock, Mary, Wife of James Bryden, Sr., Aged 65 Years. Funeral, On Wednesday, 28th inst., at 1 o'clock, P.M., from the Residence of her husband, Lot No. 3, on Wilmot Town Line, to Doon Cemetery.
