Notes |
- In 1886 Dr. Robert James Lockhart, born in Clark Township, started practise in the house where later James McCaffrey, Oscar Eby and Thomas Wilson lived for years. After a few years there he built a large brick house and office immediately to the west of his first location. He died October, 1914, aged 57 years. Shortly before he died, Dr. Lockhart sold his practise and the property to Dr. William G. Hutchison who continued there until his death in 1947.
Both Dr. Lockhart and Dr. Hutchison acted as Medical Officer of Health for years; and as to Dr. Lockhart's Public Service, he was a member of the Municipal Council, 1901-1906, and Reeve, 1907-08 and 1909 during one of which latter years he served as Warden of the County.
