- A-1-52 Ludwig Jahn: Administration to the Estate of Ludwig Jahn, formerly of the Village of Preston, Gentleman, deceased, granted and letters issued the Sixteenth day of December 1854, to his widow, Mary, on her giving proof that her said husband died intestate on or about the Second day of November next before, and on her giving Bond and sureties in the persons of Daniel Brower, of said Village of Preston, Yeoman, and Charles Jahnke, of the Township of Waterloo, Tailor, each in the sum of three Hundred Pounds. The Inventory delivered of the chattels and goods of which the said deceased died possessed of being to the amount of One Hundred and fifty seven pounds ten shillings.

A-1-94 Ludwig Jahn The petition of Henry Jahn of the Township of Waterloo. That Ludwig John of the Township of Waterloo, Gentleman, died on or about the second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four, leaving your Petitioners, the said Henry Jahn, Charles Jahn, Ludwig Jahn, and John Jahn, all infants, under the age of Sixteen years, and that they have no legal Guardians. That Mary Sail their mother, formerly the wife of Ludwig Jahn, now the lawful wife of Henry Sail of the Township of Waterloo aforesaid, is a fit and proper person to be appointed Guardian over them, and able to give sufficient sureties for the due performance of the duties and responsibilities of such Guardianship. The prayer of your humble petitioner for himself and in behalf of his aforesaid three other brothers - with their full knowledge and approbation is that their mother Mary Sail be appointed Guardian over them…
