      AMONG THE FARMERS

      Edward Doerr.

This is an enterprising and industrious young farmer who is bound to succeed. His farm is located & short distance west of the village of Petersburg, containing ninety-two acres, and is a very fertile tract of land. He has been living on it about three years and during that time has demonstrated his ability to make farming pay. He makes a specialty of selling cattle, hogs and sheep, and in the course of a year turns over many hundred head. He also feeds and fattens quite a number in his own stables during the season. It is to such men that the farmers are especially indebted, for it is through the instrumentality of the bustling stock buyer that competition for the purchase of farm products is maintained in the market and prices are kept up reasonably satisfactory to the producer. Mr. Doerr is always prepared to pay the highest price for cattle, hogs and sheep. He also has a first class chop ping mill and grain separator with which he is prepared to accommodate all who may favor him with their custom.
