    ST JACOBS-Mrs. Annie Bowman, 66, of RR 1, Waterloo, widow of Henry F. Bowman, died Sunday at K-W Hospital.

    A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Frey, she was born Oct. 15, 1894 in Woolwich Township. She was married to Emmanuel Weber, he died in 1934. She then married Henry Bowman who died in 1955.

    Surviving are three sons, Irvin Weber of RR 2, Petersburg, Clarence Weber of Kitchener and Cleason Weber of Wallenstein; five daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Matilda) Gingrich of RR 1, Wallenstein; Mrs. Mose (Hannah) Martin of RR 3, Waterloo; Mrs. Barbara Martin of RR 3, Wallenstein, and Mrs. Edgar (Maryann) Martin of RR 3, Elmira and Mrs. Emmerson (Anna) Martin of RR 3, Wallenstein; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Amon (Mary) Martin of RR 1, Waterloo, and Mrs. Edwin (Elvina) Lichty of RR 1, Waterloo, seven brothers four sisters and 38 grandchildren. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Tuesday at 2 p.m., when removal will be made to the Am- on B. Martin residence, RR 1, Waterloo. The funeral will be conducted there Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a service at Martin's Mennonite meeting house. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

    On Sunday August 17, 1975, of Route 1, St. Jacobs, aged 75 years. Husband of Lavina Martina; father of Urias of Route 1, Elmira, Mrs. Noah (Lydia Ann) Horst, Route 4, Elmira, Mrs. Aden (Mary Ann) Martin, Route 1, St Jacobs, Ephraim of Route 1, Williamsford; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive, four brothers, and four sisters, he was predeceased by one daughter, one son, five brothers and one sister. The funeral will be held from the home of Aden M. Martin, Route 1, St. Jacobs on Wednesday August 20 at 8: 30 a.m. standard time. Removal will then be made to the Conestogo Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the home.

Also loved by his sisters Adina Bauman and Leavea (Jake) Wiens, his 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.     Hawkesville Youth Dies After Fall

    Funeral service was held Wednesday for Leonard Frey, 21, of Hawkesville, who was fatally injured in a fall from a ladder June 30.

    The Frey youth died at Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital Sunday as the result of head injuries, he did not regain consciousness.

    He was installing a silo attachment on the farm of Jacob Wiens, RR 1, St. Clements, when the accident occurred. The victim was employed by Edgar S. Martin Ltd., a Hawkesville implement firm, and was installing a beam as part of a silo unloader when he fell.

    A brother, Melvin Frey of Hawkesville, was working on the same project but did not witness the accident.

    Mr. Frey had been employed by the Martin firm for about a year.

    The service was held at the home of Melvin Frey, Hawkesville, and a further service followed at Martin's Meeting House. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, prior to the funeral service,

    Mr. Frey was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Frey, of St. Jacobs. He attended Martin Mennonite Church, RR 1, Waterloo.

    Amos Marcus Frey, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra H. Frey, near Heidelberg, Wellesley Township, died Sunday after a short illness of three days. He was born on Feb. 16, 1943. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Esther and Dorcas at home. A private funeral service was held at the house Tuesday, with a public service at 2: 30 o'clock in the Hawkesville Gospel Hall. Interment was In the Hawkesville Cemetery. Beloved husband and best friend of Bonnie (Albrecht) for 33 years. Jim was a devoted and loving father to Tara of Toronto and Jason of Waterloo. Jim will also be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lucille and Harry Albrecht of Kitchener; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay Albrecht and Sylke Spiller, Darlene and Dwight Gingrich, Roger Albrecht, Marilew Albrecht and Steve Martin, Matthew Albrecht and Meagan Earle; his nieces and nephews and many dear and special friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ivan Gingrich; brother, Larry Gingrich and brother-in-law, Tim Albrecht. Jim lived his life with integrity. He showed us compassion and acceptance and what it meant to be a friend. He will be remembered for his vibrant personality, adventurous spirit and passion for life. His friendship will be missed. Jim was a dedicated employee of Decortile Ltd. in St. Jacobs for nearly 30 years where he was Project Manager. He was active at Erb Street Mennonite Church where he was a former chair of the Board of Property and very involved in the recent building project. Jim loved being on the water and especially enjoyed the last two summers sailing with his family aboard his sailboat, "Home Free." Friends are invited to share their memories of Jim with his family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, today (Saturday) and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The service to celebrate Jim's life will be held at Erb Street Mennonite Church, 131 Erb Street West, Waterloo, on Monday, November 15, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Eleanor Epp-Stobbe officiating. Cremation has taken lace. Following the service, friends and relatives are invited to join the family for the committal service at Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the home of Henry and Ada Bowman, 3727 Ament Line, Hawkesville, from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 and 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017. A family service will be held at his home at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017, then to Linwood Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service.

    FREY, John David - Was born January 9, 1961 to Amsey and Ina Frey. He grew up on the family farm and attended Linwood P.S. and Elmira District S.S. After he left school, he worked in a variety of jobs, eventually moving to B.C. to work in reforestation. In 1998, after he was diagnosed with depression, he began treatment. He was finally able to overcome his drug and alcohol addictions through the help of counseling, anti-depressants and Narcotics Anonymous. He celebrated ten years alcohol and drug-free on Nov. 1, 2008. John felt the anti-depressants with their side effects prevented him from working full-time, so he stopped taking his medication. When he couldn't find full-time work, his depression got the best of him. He died on August 6, 2009. We are very sorry for such a tragic ending to John's life and regret that he could not find a compelling reason to live. Our hearts are consoled by the belief that he has finally found some measure of peace on the other side. John was predeceased by his sister, Wendy (1965) and his father, Amsey (2003). He is survived by his mother, Ina; his son, Alia Ozdemir; his sister, Nancy, her husband Bruce Yoder and children Jeremiah and Deborah; his brother, Kenton, his wife Teresa Brown and children Maxwell and Olivia; his brother, Cameron Kaufman-Frey, his wife Dawn and children Adam and Annika. Visitation will take place Sunday, August 23, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. A private burial will be held Monday morning and a memorial service will be held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the House of Friendship.
