    RUBY, Violet - Passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at her home in New Hamburg. Violet was formerly of R.R. 2, Tavistock. She was born 91 years ago in Wilmot Township and was the daughter of the late Menno and Leah (Brenneman) Wagler. Beloved wife of the late Orlando Ruby, who predeceased her August 31, 2002. Loving mother of Anna Mae and William Kuepfer of Listowel, Arlene Hohner of Brunner, Paul Ruby of Manitoba, Dorcas and Arvel Shepherd of New Hamburg, David and Diane Ruby of Brandon, Manitoba, Deborah and Timothy Johnson of Medina, Ohio. Sadly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; John David and Jane Keeper and their children Anna and David, Charles and Virginia Keeper and their children Caleb and Naomi, Mary Beth Saunders and her children Renee and Brianna, Eric Shepherd, Rebecca and Steve Lachine and their children Isabella, Daniel and Micah, Rachael and Layton Schwartz and their daughter Lila, Joshua and Stephanie Ruby and their children Oliver and Kieren, Laurel and Ben Loewen and their daughter Evalette, Daniel, Aaron, Jeremiah, Maria and Nathan Johnson. Remembered by sister-in-law Mary Ann Ruby of New Hamburg and a number of nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her step-mother Sarah (Brenneman) Wagler, son Glen Ruby, infant son "Samuel", brothers Elmer and wife Selena Wagler, Clayton and wife Dorothy Wagler, sister Elmina and husband Ben Ruby and sister-in-law Frieda Wagler.

    Violet was baptized in her youth at Steinmann Mennonite Church where she was a life-long member. Violet enjoyed knitting, crocheting, rug making, flowers and gardening. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg tonight (Monday) from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Violet's life will take place on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden with visitation from 9:30 till 10:30 a.m. Pastor Myrna Miller Dyck and Pastor Ilene Bergen officiating. Interment to follow in Steinmann Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society or Mennonite Central Committee. The family would like to thank Dr. Irvine, Revera PSW's of CCAC Services, Pastor Myrna Miller Dyck, Pastor Ilene Bergen and Pastor Steve Drudge of Steinmann Mennonite Church and heartfelt thank you to everyone for your special prayers and support.

    Ruby, Glenn LeVerne, son of Orlando and Violet (Wagler) Ruby, was born at Baden, Ont., Dec. 16, 1941; died suddenly near New Hamburg, Ont., Aug. 14, 1963; aged 21 y. 7 m. 29 d. Surviving are his grandmother (Magdalene Ruby), 2 brothers (Paul and David), and 4 sisters (Anna Mae, Arlene, Dorcas, and Deborah). He was a member of Steinman's Church, where funeral services were held Aug. 18, in charge of Curtis Cressman, Orland Gingerich, and Elmer Schwartzentruber.
