    MRS. THERESA DREXLER

    Mrs. Theresa Drexler, 84, of RR 1, Ariss, died suddenly Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Douglas Petherlek of Alton.

    Mrs. Drexler was born in Waterloo Township where she lived all her life. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs Kloepfer. Her husband. Bernard, died in October, 1959. She was a member of St. Boniface RC Church. Maryhill, and the Christian Mothers Society.

    Surviving is also a son Charles of Elmira.

    In February 1951, Mr. Charles Drexler bought the store from Mr. Carl Sippel, formerly Sippel's Paint and Wallpaper Store. In 1970 the store was completely remodelled. Besides Simpson Sear's Catalogue Sales Store, Mr. Drexler also operates a Singer Sewing Machine and Service business. His wife Mary, assists Mr. Drexler full time. Formerly, before coming to Elmira, Mr. Drexler worked for Singer Sewing Machines in Kitchener.

    PETHERICK, (Drexler) Rose Ida

    Died Sunday, April 1, 2012, just six weeks away from her 100th birthday.

    She is survived by her daughter Judi and her husband Pat Langford, her granddaughters Robin and Rebecca, her great-granddaughter Michaela (the light of her last 8 months and the only one who truly understood every word that her GG said), her sisters Mary and Emily, her brother Verne and her many nieces and nephews.

    She was predeceased by her husband Doug, her sister Anne and her brothers Albert, William, and Charles.

    Rose was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Alton and a long time member of Holy Family Church, New Hamburg.

    She loved life, but the loves of her life were her grandchildren.

    The funeral was held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 329 Huron St., New Hamburg with Fr. James Malone presiding.

    Donations can be made to the Jackson and Carter Stoneman Autistic Therapy Fund, or the Holy Family Church Building Fund.

    Obituary of Emily Janzen

    Passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016 in her 102nd year at Cambridge Country Manor.

    Emily was the daughter of the late Bernard and Theresa (Kloepfer) Drexler. She was a very loving and devoted wife to the late Henry Janzen. Emily was a faithful member of St. Boniface Church in Maryhill, Ontario and a member of the C.W.L.

    She was predeceased by her brothers, William, Albert, Charles and Verne, her sisters Anne (MacDonald), Rose (Petherick) and Mary (Lorentz) and sister-in-law Margaret Currie.

    She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Drexler. She was a very special aunt to many nieces and nephews.

    Aunt Em loved to garden and took such pride in her beautiful flowerbeds. She also spent many hours crocheting and knitting. Many of us received a pair of those special slippers or an afghan.

    We would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Country Manor for all the loving care you gave to aunt Em for many years.

    Friends are invited to share their memories of Emily with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street, South, Waterloo, on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Boniface R. C. Church on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Ron Voisin officiating. Reception to follow at the Maryhill Community Centre, with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener.

    Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 18, 2012.

    Verne was predeceased by his wife Isabelle (1989).

    He will be lovingly remembered by his children Fred, Michael (Marg), Bernie (Liz), Terry (Dave), Frances (Tim), and Cindy (Beth).

    He was the cherished grandfather of Lisa, Christine, Michael Jr., Michelle, Clifford, Heather, Julie, Matthew, Julianna and great-grandfather of Julian, Angelina, Reese, Alissa and Madison.

    He is survived by his 2 sisters Emily Janzen and Mary Lorentz and will also be lovingly remembered by his dear friend Peggy Ellison.

    His family received friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel , 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph.

    Parish prayers were held on Wednesday evening and the Knights of Columbus held a prayer service Thursday evening.

    Mass was celebrated at St. Boniface Church on June 22, 2012 with interment at St. Boniface Cemetery.
