    Notes:

    Boshart.-Katie, daughter of Nicholas and Fanney (Gingerich) Kennel, was born in Wellesley, Ont., March 6, 1887; passed away at the home of her son, near Carthage, N.Y., May 1, 1947; aged 60 y. 1 m. 25 d. In December, 1909, she was united in marriage to Eli Boshart, who survives. They made their home in Wilmot, Ont., until 1927, when they moved to Jefferson County, N.Y. Also surviving are 3 sons (Clayton and William, Carthage, N.Y.; and Lloyd, Lowville, N.Y.), 2 brothers (Mike, Great Bend, N.Y.; and Jacob, Kitchener, Ont.), 7 sisters (Mrs. Aby Boshart, Waterloo, Ont.; Mrs. Mary Manson, Mrs. Sol Gingerich, Mrs. Nancy Koehler, and Mrs. Edmund Erb, all of Zurich, Ont.; Mrs. Ezra Koehler, Baden, Ont.; and Mrs. George Smith, Evan Mills, N.Y.) 15 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Amish Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the Croghan Church. Burial was made in the church cemetery, May 04, 1947.

    Mrs. Katie Boshart, 60, died in the home of her son, Clayton Boshart, Carthage, RD, May 1, 1947. Mrs. Boshart had gone, to her son's home for a visit and about 3 a. m. yesterday she aroused the family stating that she was ill. Before a physician could arrive, Mrs. Boshart had died. She was born Mar. 8 1887, in Wellesley, Ont. a daughter of Nicholas Kennel and Fannie Gingerich. She was the wife of Eli Boshart, who survives. For the past four years they have made their home at 330 South James St., Carthage. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Clayton, Carthage, and the Rev Lloyd Boshart, pastor of the Amish Mennonite Church in Croghan, two brothers, Michael Kennel, Great Bend, and Jacob Kennel, Kitchener, seven sisters, Mrs. Henry Boshart, Waterloo, Ont., Mrs. Mary Manson, Mrs. Solomon Gingerich, Mrs. Nancy Koehler and Mrs. Edmund Erb, all of Zurich, Ont., Mrs. Ezra Koehler, Baden, Ont.; and Mrs. George Smith, Evans Mills and fifteen-grandchildren.

    The body was brought to the Virkler Funeral Home in Lowville and on Thursday afternoon was moved to the home of Mrs. Boshart's son , Lloyd, New Bremen where the funeral services will be at 1 p. m. Sunday and at 2 p. m. from the Amish Church in Croghan with burial in the church cemetery.

    Couple Will Note 40 Years Wed

    CARTHAGE - Mr. And Mrs. Clayton Boshart, Star Route, Watertown, will be honored at an open house given by their children from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday at Fellowship Hall, First Mennonite Church of New Bremen, on their 40th wedding anniversary. Clayton Boshart and the former Florence Bast were married Nov. 19. 1933, at Tavistock. Ont.. and have lived in this region all their married life. They are now employed at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital Watertown. The couple has five children; Gerald. Alden; Harold. Carthage; Clifford, Croghan; Richard, at home; and Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Widrick, Lowville.
