OTTO, Hazel Hazel Otto, 89, of Tavistock, passed away in the Bonnie Brae Health Care Centre, Tavistock on Friday, November 22, 2013. She was born at Baden on April 11, 1924 a daughter of the late Valentine and Annie (Hesse) Hofstetter. Hazel had worked at the J.G. Field & Co. Woollen Mill in Tavistock and was a member of Grace United Church. She married Ralph Frederick Otto at Baden on September 1, 1945. He predeceased her on August 13, 1983. Hazel is survived by one daughter, Margaret Rose and husband Michael Hallam; six sons, Ken Otto and friend Becky, Richard Otto, Bruce Otto and friend Wendy, Bradley and wife Marilyn Otto, Bryan and wife Dorothy Otto, David and wife Liz Otto; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-three great- grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence and wife Rose Hofstetter, Robert and wife Patricia Hofstetter, Bryan and wife Donna Hofstetter; three sisters, Laura Deans, Ruby Von Farra, Kathleen and husband Alexander Currie. She was the dear friend of Manfred Koebel who predeceased her on June 29, 1992. She was also predeceased by her son, Douglas Otto (February 11, 1948); one sister, Mabel Storer; four brothers, Lloyd, Lorne, Maurice and Kenneth Hofstetter; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alice and Harry Grein, Margaret and John "Andy" Ritchie, Robert Deans, Waldmar Von Farra; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and Annie (Roth) Otto. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Grace United Church, Tavistock on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mary Stewart will officiate. Interment in Grace United Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 1-519-655-2431.
