    CRESSMAN, Miss Edna -- At Fairview Mennonite Home on Tuesday, July 8, 1980,following a lengthy illness, Edna Cressman, aged 95 years, of Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge. She was a member of the Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church. She was the daughter of late Levi Cressman and the former Leah Schmitt. Sister of John of Cambridge, Mrs. Effie Snyder of New Hamburg; six nieces and eight nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Ervin and one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Sadie) Steckley. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W. ,Kitchener, after 2 p. m. today, until noon Thursday, when removal will be madeto Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, for funeral service at 3 p. m. , with Rev. James Reesor and Rev. Simeon Horst officiating. Interment First Mennonite cemetery.

    Notes:

    Steckly. - Sister Sadie Cressman, beloved wife of Bro. Joe J. Steckly of near Carstairs, Alta., died on Oct. 11, 1925. She was born near Kitchener, Ont., on July 30, 1887. She leaves a sorrowing husband and three children (Irene, Lyle and Merl), also a mother, sister, and two brothers, in Kitchener, Ont. She had cancer but on taking treatment in Linden, Ont., hope was held out for her recovery. She came home just about six weeks before her death happy to be in her home. Sister Sadie was of a cheerful and loving disposition, so is greatly missed by her many friends. She was patient in her suffering and expressed her longing to depart and be where there is no more pain. The funeral was held on Oct. 16, Bro. N. B. Stauffer of Aldersyde preaching an impressive sermon. Bro. N. R. Weber and the home minister, Bro. H. J. Harder, assisted. Sadie was laid away to await the call of her Lord, in the cemetery near the church where she was used to worship.

On Feb. 5, 1919, she was married to Zenas Snyder, who died on Aug. 5, 1958. Surviving are one son (John), 4 daughters (Mildred-Mrs. Jacob Regier, Beulah-Mrs. Willard Cressman, Alice, and Nellie-Mrs. Willis Martin), one stepdaughter (Arminta-Mrs. Ralph Honsberger), and one brother (John Cressman).     SNYDER, Mrs. Effie Magdelena -- On Monday, Jan. 12, 1981 at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, Mrs, Effie (Cressman) Snyder, aged 91 years. She was a member of Nithvalley Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the WMSC.Beloved wife of the late Zenas Snyder, who predeceased her in 1958. Dear mother of John of Waterloo, Mildred (Mrs. Jacob Regier) of Baden, Beulah (Mrs. Willard Cressman) and Alice Snyder, both of New Hamburg, Nellie (Mrs. Willis Martin) of Elmira and a stepdaughter, Arminta (Mrs. Ralph Honsberger) of Vineland. Also surviving is a brother, John Cressman of Cambridge (P); 22 grandchildren ans 23 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, the late Levi Cessman and the Former Leah Schmitt; a brother and two sisters.The late Mrs. Snyder will be resting at the Omand- Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg Chapel, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, where friends will be received after 7 p.m. this evening and until noon Thursday, when removal will be made to Nithvalley Mennonite Church, Regional Road 3, four miles south of New Hamburg, for service at 2 p.m., with Rev.     STECKLY, C. Mearl

    Passed on to sing with the Angel Choir on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the age of 94. Loved father of Dennis and Anita, Marlin and Gail, Laurel and Kirby. He will forever be remembered by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Mearl left this earth on the same day as his beloved wife Helen, who predeceased him 17 years ago on Tuesday, July 24, 2001. He will be greatly missed by his dear friend Nora and the whole Hammond family. Relatives and friends may call at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Preston Mennonite Church, 791 Concession Rd.     JOHN SNYDER 1921-2009 Passed away at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at age 88. Beloved husband of Irene for 58 years; loved father of Stephen, and Anne; loving grandfather of Julianne and Kalinda; dear brother of Buelah Cressman (Willard), Alice Snyder, and Nellie Martin (Willis), and a brother-in-law of Jake Regier. Predeceased by sisters, Arminta Hunsberger and Mildred Regier. A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held in the chapel of the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 1 p.m. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice Cressman for 62 years; much loved father of Marilynn Cressman (Doug Chalk), and Wendy Cressman (Robert Mede); loved grandpa of Jason, Michael (Becca Kadar) and Jesse; great-grandfather of Logan and Grayson. Ed will also be remembered by sisters-in-law, Alice Martin, Grace Cressman and Marie Cressman and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings, Carl, Lois, and Ernest.     CARL F. CRESSMAN 1922 - 2005 Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Friday June 3, 2005. Beloved husband of Grace Cressman and loving father of David Cressman and his wife Pam. Proud and loving grandfather of Glen Cressman and his friend Sue Morrow and Tom Cressman and his fiancee Jaime Taylor. Carl is also survived by his brothers, Edwin and his wife Beatrice Cressman and Ernest and his wife Marie Cressman and by his sister-in-law, Vi (Mrs. Cecil) Cressman and also nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, John and Dora Cressman and his sister, Lois Cressman. Carl served his country in World War Two as a flight instructor in Hagersville and has since been a member of the 404 Wing in Waterloo where he was a Past President. He retired in 1987 from Diversey Canada as Sales Manager after 35 years of dedicated service. Carl was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Kitchener. The memorial service to remember and celebrate Carl's life will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at the corner of Weber and Queen Streets in Kitchener on Friday June 10, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vern Tozer officiating. A reception following the service will be held in the church hall. Cremation has taken place. In Carl's memory, donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Cardiac Care Centre or the charity of your choice and can be arranged through the funeral home.     CRESSMAN, Ernie Ernie passed away, unexpectedly, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Monday, October 18, 2010, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of 54 years to Marie.
