    METZGER, Magdalena (Mrs. Martin) - Peacefully, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Chateau Gardens, Elmira. Magdalena (Bowman) Metzger in her 96th year of Elmira. Beloved wife of the late Martin Metzger (1950). Devoted mother of Sally and Isey Weber of Elmira, Martin "Marty" and Barb Metzger of Conestogo, Harold "Harry" and Donna Metzger of Waterloo, Lena and Rod Uttley, Martha and Don Jewitt all of Elmira. Loving grandma of Tony (Colleen) Weber, Andy (Sandra) Weber, Kim (Don) Gareau, Richard (Donna) Metzger, Steven Metzger, Tamara (Mark) Allan, Cindy (Don) Brubacher, Holly Uttley (Adam Good), Mandy (Alan) Jewitt-Dyck, Martin Jewitt, Robbie Jewitt (Erin Klassen) and to her 11 great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Grace Bowman, Lydian Kappes and Abram Metzger. Magdalena was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her parents, Martin and Magdalena (Brubacher) Bowman; her eight brothers, Israel, Enos, Levi, Solomon, Tobias, Emmanuel, Martin and Tilman and her five sisters, Rebecca, Amanda, Catherine, Mary Ann and one sister in infancy. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2007 transfer will be made to the Elmira Mennonite Church for funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ruth Anne Laverty and Pastor Steven Janzen officiating followed by interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. In her memory, donations to Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.

    METZGER, Mrs. Joseph (Amanda) Gone to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with cancer Amanda Bowman, beloved wife of Joseph Metzger, of Elmira on Monday July 20 1992. at K-W Hospital. in her 80th year.

    Mother of Minerva and Harvey Martin Elvina and Orten Gingrich Lorne and Florence Metzger all of Elmira. Tilman and Karen Metzger of St Clements. Edeen and Phares Martin of Listowel Sixteen grand children and four great grandchildren also survive Sister of Mrs Noah (Rebecca) Martin of Hawkesville Solomon Bowman Mrs Magdalena Metzger and Katherine Bauman. all of Elmira. Tobias Bowman of Cambridge Six brothers and two sisters predeceased her.

    Visitation at the Dreisinger Funer al Home. Elmira, today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm At noon on Thursday, removal will be made to Floradale Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2 pm Burial will take place at St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery.

Wife of the late Amos G. Martin (1994). Daughter of the late Levi and Hannah (Martin) Bowman. Mom made many slippers and blankets for all her children, Betty (Ray) Faulkner, James (Mildred) Martin, Helen (Doug) Mank, Ruth (Art) Bogue, Sandra (Bill) Pawlitzki, David (Gloria) Martin, Fred Martin and Penny, Sherry (Stephane) Martin-Legault. Slippers also provided to her 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Priscilla (Knechtel) Yanke, Saloma Merritt, Orvie Bowman, Leonard Bowman, Edna Vandenberg, Carol Shantz and Grace Bowman. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Elmira Pentecostal Assembly, 290 Arthur St. S., Elmira, on Monday, August 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hansley Armoogan and Rev. Ray Faulkner officiating followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. In Salinda's memory, donations to Community Care Access Centre, Listowel Caressant Care Activity Programs or Mennonite Centre Committee would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.     Went to meet her Lord peacefully, at Heritage House in St. Jacobs, on March 25, 2007, at the age of 77 years. Predeceased by her husband Alfred Knechtel in 1997 and her husband Roy Yanke in 2004. Dear mother of Sharon Leis (Bruce) of Moorefield, Charmaine McKay (Alvin) of Belmont, Wayne Knechtel (Cathy) of Bloomingdale and Mark Knechtel (Crystal) of Waterloo. Also survived by her step-children, Sandy Scott (Doug), Terry Yanke (Heather), Glenn Yanke (Sally), Stu Yanke (Chris) and Linda Morris. Grandmother of Murray Leis (Janette), James Leis, Robert Leis, Rachel McKay, Joshua Knechtel, Zackery Knechtel and Melody Knechtel; great-grandmother of Alyssa and Ashley Leis. Lovingly remembered by 12 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters, Selinda Martin, Saloma Merritt, Edna Vandenberg (Fred), Carol Shantz (Danny) and Grace Bowman; brothers, Orvie Bowman (Eleanor) and Leonard Bowman (Joy). Predeceased by her parents, Levi and Hannah Bowman; her beloved grandson, Matthew Knechtel; and two brothers.     HORST, Paul Richard 1948 - 2015 After a courageous battle with cancer, Paul, of Eby Village, Kitchener, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at age 67. He was the beloved brother of Lauretta Martin of Elmira, Howard and Alice Horst of Hawksville, Daniel and Salema Horst of Gowanstown, Robert and Alma Horst of Thamesville, Ronald and Sharon Horst of Palmerston. He was a special uncle to his many nieces and nephews and always took an interest in their lives. He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Maryann Horst, brother-in-law Clayton Martin and his nephew Dennis Horst. As a youth he gave his heart to the Lord. He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Kitchener. A special thank you to his Eby Village family, Dr. Stevens, the staff in I.C.U., and the sixth floor oncology at Grand River Hospital for their compassionate care during his illness.
