    Gordon Gies - Gordon Gies, 60, of 190 Melrose Ave., died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Preston, March 27, 1902, he was a son of Louis Gies and the former Catherine Erb. Mr. Gies was bookkeeper for Arnold Bros. Ltd. and had formerly been a bookkeeper at Kitchener Auditorium. He was also manager and bookkeeper of Waterloo Arena in 1949-50. He had been a resident of Kitchener for the past 16 years and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Surviving are his father and step-mother, his wife, the former Peggy Nadon, whom he married in 1957 in Guelph, two brothers, Herbert of Hamilton and Kenneth of Kitchener and two sisters, Mrs. Ezra (Madeline) Brown of Waterloo and Mrs. Howard (Clara) Huehn of St. Catharines. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 am with Rev. L.E. Wentzlaff officiating. Burial will be in St. Agatha Lutheran Cemetery. Donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation would be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
