    Alvin B. Martin, 62, of RR 2, Wallenstein, died Friday, June 17, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born June 21, 1897, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses B. Martin,

    Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Steckle; five sons, Elmer, RR 2, Wallenstein; Edgar of Hawkesville; Alvin at home; Eldon, RR 2, Drayton; and Leonard, RR 2 Alma; five daughters, Mrs. Aden (Alice) Martin and Mrs. Abner (Ella) Shantz, both of RR 2, Wallenstein; Mrs. Sidney (Irene) Martin and Mrs. Rufus (Verna) Gingerich, both of RR 2, Drayton, and Elsie at home; two brothers, Noah, RR 2, Wallenstein, and 28 grandchildren.

    The body was at the residence where a funeral service was conducted Monday, followed by a service at the Mennonite Meeting House, Fourth, concession of Peel Township. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mother of Doreen and Oscar Frey of RR 3, Listowel, Earl and Marie Martin of Elmira, Ray and Karen Martin of RR 2, Wallenstein, Doris and Steven Martin of RR 1, Wallenstein. Also survived by her 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Sister of Elmer Martin, Edgar and Rebecca Martin, Alvin and Wilma Martin, Eldon and Beatrice Martin, Ella Shantz, Leonard and Eileen Martin,Verna and Rufus Gingrich, Elsie and Laverne Weber. Predeceased by her parents, Alvin and Elizabeth (Steckley) Martin; infant son, Paul; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Sidney Martin; brother-in-law, Abner Shantz and sister-in-law, Almeda Martin. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira today (Friday) 2-4 and 6: 30-9 p.m. A family service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, October 20, at 9 a.m. then to the North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House for further public service and burial in the adjoining cemetery. The family would like to thank Lydian Martin and the staff at Martins Rest Home for their patience and loving care shown to our mother.

    Predeceased by her parents Alvin and Elizabeth (Steckle) Martin, five grandchildren, sisters Alice (Aden) Martin and Irene (Sidney) Martin, brothers Elmer (Elmeda) Martin, Edgar Martin, and Alvin Martin.

    Ella was a Godly woman; compassionate, caring, nurturing, accepting, giving beyond herself. She had many friends and took an interest in people's lives, and many were remembered daily in her prayers.

    The family received relatives and friends on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 6-8:30 p.m. and Monday, April 9, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, 3745 Herrgott Rd., Hawkesville. Interment followed in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clements.

    MARTIN, Leonard S. Peacefully passed away at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the age of 85 surrounded by his family. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Eileen of 62 years. Dear father to Rita (Merle) Shantz, Wilma (Murrel) Frey, Fern (Ron) Martin, Jean (Neil) Martin, Harold (Michelle), Larry (Sue), Ron (Sherri), Dale (Tanya), and Tim (Heather).     Marie Martin, 12 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney W. Martin, RR 2, Drayton, died suddenly at her home Monday, January 6.

    She was born at the home where she died. She attended school in Elmira.

    Surviving besides her parents are four brothers, Lorne, Clare, Alvin and Cleon and one sister. Beatrice, all at home her maternal grand-rooter, Mrs. Alvin Martin, and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Manasseh Martin.

    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor until Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. when removal was made to the home for the funeral at 1 p.m. Further service was conducted at North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
