    Probe Not Decided In Gravel Pit Death

    It has not been decided whether an inquest will be held into the death of Donald Cressman, 39, of RR 2, Preston, who was killed Saturday when his front-end loader overturned in a gravel pit on the farm of Alfred Schnaeringer, RR 2, Breslau. A post-mortem was conducted Saturday.

    Mr. Cressman, who was found by Mrs. Rex Weber, was pinned beneath the rear wheels of the tractor. The pit is operated by brothers Rex and Paul Weber, through R.and P. Weber Concrete Products Ltd.

    Mr. Cressman was born at Breslau Jan 4, 1926, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cressman of Kitchener, A resident of the Breslau area all his life, he was employed at R. and P. Concrete Products, RR 2, Breslau. He was a member and trustee of Breslau United Missionary Church.

    Surviving besides his parents are his wife, the former Shirley Mader; two sons, Raymond and Terry, both at home; one daugh- ter, Peggy, also at home; two brothers, Willard Cressman, Hanover, and Leonard of Edson, Alta.; and three sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Verda) Lichty, Hespeler, Mrs. Harold (Erla) Brubacher, Waterloo, and Mrs. Roy (Florence) Kreider, serving as a missionary in Israel.

    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Wednesday at 11 a.m. when removal will be made to Breslau United Missionary Church where friends may pay their respects until the service at 3 p.m. Rev. Harold Boadway, minister of the church, will have charge of the service. Interment will be in Cressman Mennonite cemetery, Breslau.

    Donations to the Women's Missionary Society of Breslau United Missionary Church will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    CRESSMAN, Raymond Harold October 12, 1948 - July 15, 2010 "Resting in the arms of Jesus" Survived by his wife and soul mate of 42 years, Eleanor Cressman (Reist) and their three children Joseph of Kitchener, Vicky (Marty) Newbigging of Wallenstein, and Peter of Dorking; Grandpa to Calvin and Cory Cressman, and Papa to Claire and Carter Newbigging. He is survived by his mother Shirley Cressman Mader, his sister Peggy Worboys (Russ) of Cambridge, his brother Terry Cressman of Calgary, sisters-in-law Bonnie (Wally) Yantz, and Gail (Stubby) Stahlbaumn, brothers-in-law Jim (Shirley) Reist, and Jeff Reist as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Donald Cressman and step-dad Cecil Mader. Ray worked as an Ironworker for Aecon Engineering prior to his accident. Ray was a member of Zion Mennonite Fellowship in Elmira and in earlier years filled many positions at Glen Allan Mennonite. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Sunday, July 18th from 6 - 9 p.m. A celebration of Ray's life will take place at Emmanuel Evangelical Missionary Church, Elmira on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. followed by cremation.
