    Mrs. J. Edward Schnarr

    Mrs. J. Edward Schnarr of 25 Oak St. died today at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. She was 82.

    The former Ida Eleanora Schneider, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schneider. She was born in Kitchener and lived here all her life.

    Mrs. Schnarr was a member of St. John's RC Church, the Catholic Women's League and the Confraternity of the Holy Family.

    Surviving are her husband to whom she was married in Kitchener July 30, 1912; two sons, Harry, Waterloo, and Gerald, Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Delores) Schmitt, and Mrs. Arthur (Marie) Lang, both of Kitchener; one brother, George of Kitchener, and four sisters, Mrs. Edward (Lena) Seftel, Mrs. John (Katherine ) Germann and Mrs. Harry (Genevieve) Knechtel, all of Kitchener, and Sister M. Cajetan (Thekla) of Waterdown; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Rosalia, two brothers and five sisters.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Saturday where the rosary, will be recited Sunday at 8 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Monday at 9: 30 a.m. after which removal will be made to St. John's RC Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.

    DOLORES (SCHNARR) SCHMITT 1917 - 2008 From behind the curtain you could hear A soft little giggle, oh my how dear, As Grandma slowly opened the door To her sweet grandchildren, all four Our loving mother and grandmother died peacefully at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener, on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Left to mourn: son, Doug (Edith "Edee" Vogt) Schmitt and daughter, Judy (Schmitt) Farwell. Dolores will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, whom she so cherished: Geoff (Jennifer Nicholson) Schmitt, Jane Schmitt (Geoff Atkinson), Tim (Christina Callahan) Schmitt and Jeremy "Bubba" Farwell. Predeceased by her parents, Ed and Ida Schnarr; beloved husband, Walter Schmitt (2001) and siblings, Rosalia, Gerald, Marie and Harry. Survived by Marg (Harry) Schnarr and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dolores will be remembered for her Church and community work, sewing, knitting, crocheting, tatting, gardening and cooking…just a few of her many talents. Visitation will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home , 621 King St. West, Kitchener today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and on Saturday morning from 10-11 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church (corner of Highland Rd. and Stirling), where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. A reception, in the Fellowship Hall, will follow the Church service. Expressions of sympathy may be made either to St. Stephen Lutheran Church (Our Faith Journey Fund), where Dolores and Wally were charter members, or to Sunnyside Home Foundation, where Dolores comfortably spent the last 10 years of her life. We thank the staff of Cider Mill and Recreation Therapist, Teresa Ruetz for their loving care of mom. Now it is time, precious Grandma, for us to say goodbye, as resting in God's arms You now lie, content and happy to be with Your Wally again…whole in mind, body and Spirit. Amen

    SCHNARR, John Gerald (Jack) 1948 - 2016 Passed away suddenly at his Kitchener residence on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the age of 68. Jack was the loving partner of Janis Reitzel. Dear father of Jim (Angie) of Waterloo, Jodie (Tracey) of Waterloo, Jill Schnarr (Brian) of Kitchener and Jay (Jennifer) of Baden. Dear grandfather of Brady, Jessica, Kennedy, Easton, Abigail, Jordan, Chayce, Justin, Tyler, Ryan and Jaiden. Sadly missed by his sister Joan Ziegler (Duncan) of Waterloo. Jack will be sadly missed by his dog and best buddy, Sammy. Predeceased by his brother Ron and his wife Dorothy and his parents Harry and Margaret Schnarr. Jack was a retired mail carrier, and fastball player. He was an avid golfer, horseshoe player, bowler and sports fan to his kids and grandchildren. At Jack's request, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of his life on a future date.
