    Mrs. Harry Ballak, 70, of 532 Duke St. W., died Friday at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness. The former Anna Szwaluk[?], she was born in Austria Nov. 6, 1894[?], and had resided in Kitchener for the past 44 years. She is survived by her husband, Harry Ballak, whom she married Nov. 24, 1914, in Winnipeg; a son, Peter of Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. John (Mary) Tillger of Hamilton, Mrs. Kenneth (Nettie) Porter of Galt and Mrs. William (Nell) Plomske of Kitchener; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons in infancy. The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home after noon Sunday. The service will be conducted at the funeral home at 3: 30 p.m. Monday by Rev. J.H. Getz, minister of Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

    Passed away peacefully, on October 18, 2013, at St. Andrews Terrace, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Kenneth (1989). Loving mother to Richard. Cherished grandmother to Richard (Deborah), Shirley (Eric), Kenneth and great-grandmother to Adam, Jessica, Madison, Savannah and Megan. Predeceased by siblings Mary, Nel and Peter. Nettie will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge, for a memorial service on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 2pm.

    BALLAK, Peter - As the result of a pedestrian car accident, in Kitchener, on Friday, April 18, 1986, Peter Ballak, age 56 years, of 279 Ferndale Place, Waterloo. Mr. Ballak owned and operated Jessop Cleaners in Kitchener and Waterloo, and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Beloved husband of the former June Stahle; dear father of Debby Ballak and her husband Phil Wilkins of Sebringville, Cindy of Stratford and David at home. He is also lovingly remembered by two grandchildren, Becca and Baylea and sisters, Mary (Mrs. John Tillger) of Hamilton, Nettie (Mrs. Kenneth Porter) of Cambridge and Nel (Mrs. William Plomske) of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ballak. Mr. Ballak's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. At noon on Monday, transfer will be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., Waterloo, for the funeral service at 2 p.m. (Monday), with Rev. Jack Dressler officiating. Interment to follow in Parkview cemetery, Waterloo.
