    Notes:

    A. P. DAMMEIER was born in the year 1860 on Lot 6, Concession 14, eastern section of Wellesley Township, where he is still living. His father was one of the pioneers coming from the vicinity of Hespeler and located on the farm now occupied by his son in the early forties, hewing out a home for himself and family in what was then a vast wilderness. Mr. Dammeier was first elected to the Township Council in 1904, and has since discharged the duties appertaining thereto very satisfactorily.

    MRS. MENNO SCHLUETER

    Mrs. Menno Schlueter, 58, died at her home in Linwood Tuesday following a lingering illness. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Dameler, she was born near Linwood. In 1905 she was married to Menno Schlueter, who survives. Mrs. Schlueter was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood.

    Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sydney (Maude) Leis of Linwood, Mrs. Elmer (Anna) Schott of Bamberg; three sons, Percy, Arthur and Pembrooke of Linwood; one sister, Mrs. John C. Hoffman, Millbank; two brothers, William Dammeier of Bamberg and Elvin of Linwood. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

    The funeral will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday with a short service at the residence followed by public service in St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Rev. A. W. Schweitzer will be in charge. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

    William A. Dammeier

    WELLESLEY - William A. Dammeier, 71, Wellesley assessor and tax collector for 15 years, died at the K-W Hospital today following a heart attack outside his home last night.

    Mr. Dammeier was born Jan. 26, 1890, in Wellesley Township. He farmed in the township until 1949 when he moved to Wellesley and worked for the Cook Construction Company Ltd.

    Mr. Dammeier was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Ada Moser; a son, Ralph of Bamberg; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Marie) Koehler of Kitchener, and Mrs. Gordon (Laurine) Cook of Stratford, and a sister, Mrs. John (Emma) Hoffman of Wellesley. There are eight grandchildren.

    The body will be at the Futher Funeral Home, Wellesley, from 7 pm tonight. Removal will be made Monday, at 1 pm to St. Mark's Lutheran Church where the funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Elmer Oleson at 3 pm. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.

    Alvin Dammeier, 65, of RR 3 Wallenstein died Thursday, November 6 at Likeholme Nursing Home, St. Jacobs, after a lengthy illness. He farmed most of his lifetime in the Wallenstein area where he was born He was born June 27, 1893, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Dammeier. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood. His wife, the former Arabella Sattler, died Oct. 18, 1946. They were married in 1919 at Heidelberg. Surviving are a son, Earl of RR 3, Wallenstein; a brother, William of Wellesley; a sister, Mrs. John (Emma) Hoffman of Wellesley and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Clara Schlueter. The body rested at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 3 p.m., Saturday, then at the home until 12: 30 p.m. Sunday when removal was made to St. Peter's Church, Linwood. The funeral was conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Virgil Anderson officiating. Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Linwood.

    Funeral service will be conducted today (Wednesday) at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood at 2:30 for Maude Laurene Schlueter of Linwood. She died Monday in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, at the age of 64 following a brief illness.

    A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Menno Schlueter she was born near Linwood on January 30, 1907. She was a member of the Linwood Women's Institute and St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

    She is survived by: her husband, Sidney Leis; sons, Walter and Stanley of Linwood and Lorne of RR3 Wallenstein; daughters, Mabel (Mrs. William) Ogram of Linwood, and Doris (Mrs. Clayton) Lotz of Phillipsburg; brother, Pembroke of Linwood; sister, Anna (Mrs. Elmer) Schott of Elmira; and eleven grandchildren.

    She was predeceased by two brothers.

    Rev. S. J. Wittig will conduct the service and burial will be in the church cemetery.

    COOK, Laurine H. Laurine Hilda Cook passed away peacefully at her residence at the Bonnie Brae Health Care Centre on Saturday, September 28, 2013, in her 93rd year. Born in Wellesley Township, she was the daughter of the late William Dammeier and the former Ada Moser. Laurine along with her husband lived and farmed at Lot 26, Concession 7 of North Easthope Township. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, North Easthope. Beloved wife of the late Gordon A. Cook, who predeceased her on September 14, 2005, whom she married at St. John's Lutheran Church, Wellesley Township on November 8, 1947. Dear mother of Carolyn Cook of Kitchener; and Brian R. Cook and wife Susan of R.R. 1, Stratford. Loving grandmother of Constance (Lori) Cook of Kitchener; Cindy Waye and husband Geoff of Stratford; and Paula Cook of Stratford. Cherished great-grandmother of Tamara and Rylan Waye. Dear sister-in-law of Dorothy Dammeier of Elmira. Laurine will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Marie Koehler and husband Walter, her brother Ralph Dammeier, and sister-in-law Ornetta and husband Levi Cook. Relatives and friends may call at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, North Easthope on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. Rev. Patricia Jackson will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

    On Saturday, August 5, 1989, at K-W Hospital, Ralph Alvin Dammeier, of RR 3, Wellesley.

    Mr. Dammeier was born in Wellesley township 65 years ago.

    He was a son of the late William A. Dammeier and the late Ada Moser.

    He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, in Linwood, and he had farmed on the Fifth Line East of Wellesley township all his life.

    He was also former school trustee of the Hesson Road public school.

    Beloved husband of Dorothy E. (Schneider) Dammeier of RR 3, Wellesley; beloved father of David and his wife Diane Dammeier of RR 1, Palmerston, Douglas and his wife Connie Dammeier of RR 4, Listowel, Morris and his wife Debbie Dammeier of Kitchener, Philip and his wife Loretta Dammeier of RR 2, Listowel and Warren and his wife Cindy Dammeier of RR 2, Petersburg, Linda and her husband Peter Hamburger of Kitchener, Barbara and her husband Ray Weber of RR 2, West Montrose; dear brother of Marie and her husband Walter Koehler of Kitchener, Laurie and her husband Gordon Cook of RR 1, Stratford.

    Lovingly remembered by 18 grandchildren.

    Predeceased by one grandson, Ian Dammeier, July 31, 1987.

    Visitation was held at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley, until noon August 8, 1989 (Monday), when removal was made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood, for the service at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Douglas Schweyer officiated.

    Interment in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery, Linwood.

    Of RR 1, Arthur, died suddenly, on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, as a result of a car accident.

    Neil was born August 14, 1950 and grew up on a farm just outside of Linwood.
    Neil worked for The County of Wellington Waste Management Department.

    He had a love for photography and had captured many precious moments at weddings and other special occasions.

    He also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.

    He was the beloved son of Helen (of Waterloo) and the late Earl Dammeier.

    Loving father to Roger (of Fergus), Jeff and his fiancee Colleen (of Mississauga) and Sherry and her husband Bill Taylor (of Elmira); cherished "gramps" to Cassidy and Logan Taylor, beloved brother of Joyce and her husband Tony Gerth (of Waterloo) and Bruce and his wife Donna (of Linwood); special uncle to Rob Dammeier and Jen and her husband Sean Mifflin.

    Husband of Janis Dammeier (of Fergus).

    The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira, tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

    At 9 a.m. on Saturday transfer will be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 290 Belsyde St. E., in Fergus for funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Peter Lisinski officiating.

    Family committal service at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Linwood, following the church luncheon Saturday afternoon.
