She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church and an honorary member of the Ladies' Aid Society. Her husband predeceased her 14 years ago. Surviving are one son, Arthur of Preston, one daughter, Mrs. Cecil Soper of Preston. Funeral services will be held Sunday from the home at 1.30 o'clock to Preston Cemetery.

PRESTON, Aug. 19— Following a lengthy illness Lucy Kanamacher, 68, wife of George Eitel, Sr,. died at her Laurel street home early today, Mrs. Eitel had been a resident of Preston all her life and married Mr. Eitel on July 15, 1896. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church and of the Ladies' Aid Society. Surviving are her husband two sons, George and Norman, both of Kitchener, one sister, Mrs. Henry Baumgartner of Hespeler, and one grandchild. The remains are resting at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home, Queen and Argyle streets, from where the funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 with Interment in the Preston Cemetery.

PRESTON, Sylvester J. Kanmacher, 41 Hamilton St., Preston, died yesterday afternoon, at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Galt. He had been in poor health for sometime. Mr. Kanmacher was born in Preston and had spent all his life in town. He was an accountant at Eastern Steel Products, Ltd., for a number of years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was also a member of the church council. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kanmacher. Surviving are his wife, the former Hilda Canning, one son, Gordon of Preston, one brother Harold of Preston, and one sister, Mrs. David (Myrtle) Steven, of Beamsville. Three grandchildren. The body will be at the Stager-Barthel Funeral Home, until Thursday noon, when removal will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, for the funeral, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Preston cemetery. Rev. J. S. Dauphinee of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, will officiate.

Designer George Eitel Dies at 55

George Eitel, 55, well-known Canadian artist and a furniture designer for Dominion Electrohome Industries Ltd., for the past 25 years, died suddenly today from a heart attack. Mr. Eitel, was stricken while walking, near his residence, 82 Filbert St. The artist, whose paintings have been shown in all major Canadian exhibitions, for the unusual techniques and experiments in the field of water colours. His work has influenced that of other Canadian artists.

NATIVE OF PRESTON
Mr. Eitel's paintings are included in the permanent collections (of the Toronto, Winnipeg and Montreal) Art Galleries. He was also recognized as one of Canada's leading furniture designers, Stylings of Delicraft furniture and Electrohome radio, television and high-fidelity cabinets are largely due to Mr. Eitel's creative abilities. He was born in Preston, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Eitel. After receiving his education in Preston and Hamilton schools, he became associated with a furniture factory at Kincardine. Later he was employed with a Toronto company and with the Electrohome firm in Elmira before coming to Kitchener.

Mr. Eitel was a member of Zion Evangelical church. His marriage to the former Margaret Tuffin, who survives, took place in Preston in 1932. Also surviving are one son, Donald and one daughter (Anna ), both of Kitchener, one brother Norman, predeceased him in 1942.

PRESTON, Dec, 19 - A former well-known Preston resident for more than 20 years, Norman William Eitel, died at the Toronto General Hospital this morning following an operation two and a half weeks ago. In his 35th year, the deceased had resided and worked in Kitchener for the past eight years with the Dominion Electrohome as a radio technician and a tool maker. Born in Preston, the son of George Eitel and the late Mrs. Eitel, he was educated at the local public school and the Galt Collegiate. He was a former member of the local Young Britons. He attended the Kitchener Lutheran Church. Until he accepted the position with the Kitchener concern eight years ago, the late Mr, Eitel lived in Preston. Surviving is his wife, nee Valeria Knack, his father, George Eitel. and a brother, George E. Eitel of Kitchener. The remains will be brought to his home, 151 Elmer Street, Waterloo, Sunday at noon and will rest there until Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock when they will be taken to the H. K. Stager Funeral Home, Preston, from where funeral service will be held at 2: 30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Interment will be in Preston Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 14, 2012. Gord Kanmacher of Southampton at the age of 83. Dearly beloved husband for 59 years and best friend of Bernice Kanmacher (nee Eby) of Southampton. Loving father of Sheri and her husband Peter Schmalz of Port Elgin, Mary Kanmacher of Southampton, Rod and his wife Julie of Hepworth and Jane Robson of Port Elgin. Proud Grandfather of Brandon, Nathan, Jamie, Candie, Stevie, Bobbie, Billy, Rhonda, Ben, Jesse, Ryder and great-grandfather of eight. Predeceased by his parents Sylvester and Agnes Kanmacher, by his step-mother Hilda Kanmacher and by his in-laws Ben and Florence Eby. Gord was a retired proud member of UA Local 527 Plumbers, Steamfitters and Welders of Kitchener for 57 years. Gord had a great love for his family. Born November 18, 1927. Passed away peacefully, at Golden Years Nursing Home on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at age 82. Ken will be sadly missed by his wife Jacquie (nee Weiler) of 54 years and his sons, Mark (Ruth), Scott (Kim), Kevin (Melissa) and Gregg(Kim). Ken was a very astute person, who worked as an Office Manager for Beneficial Finance and closer to his retirement persued a career in Real Estate.
