    Sudden Passing of Mrs. Rufus Davidson

    The community was shocked on Monday to learn of the sudden death in Galt Hospital of Mrs. Rufus Davidson, aged 52 years, a well-known and respected resident of Blenheim township.

    Mrs. Davidson had been seriously ill for only about a week, and was removed to hospital on Monday, where she passed away a few hours later.

    The former Bessie Marshall, she was born on the Marshall homestead, north of Ayr, now occupied by her brother, Gordon Marshall. She was a daughter of the later Cameron Marshall, North Dumfries township, and Mrs. Marshall, nee Mary Isabel Deans, who now resides in this village.

    She was married to Rufus Davidson over 24 years ago and since that time had lived in Blenheim township.

    The late Mrs. Davidson was a valued member of Knox United Church and took an active interest in the affairs of the congregation. She was a member of the King's Daughters' Auxiliary and also other prominent church organizations.

    Surviving, besides her husband and mother, are two sons: Richard and Cameron, and a daughter, Mary, all at home. Two brothers and a sister also survive, as follows: Anderson and Gordon Marshall, North Dumfries, and Mrs. Leslie McDonald, Blenheim.

    James Marshall Davidson

    The sympathy of the community is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Davidson, Blenheim, in the death on Sunday morning of their infant son, James Marshall, aged 2 years. Besides his sorrowing parents, he is survived by two small brothers, Richard, aged 9 years, and Cameron, aged 3 years. The funeral, which was private, took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Monday afternoon, with Rev. J. W. Currie in charge of the services.

    Richard Davidson

    Richard Henry Davidson passed away at his residence, 29 Glen Road, Kitchener, on Saturday, January 26. He was 65. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Davidson, he resided with his family for several years on the 12th Concession of Blenheim west of Greenfield. Beloved husband of the former Norma Bulmer; dear brother of Cameron and his wife Donna of Guelph, Mary and her husband Robert Crozier of Summerside, P.E.I. Also fondly remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom and Elaine Bulmer, Edith Martin, all of Kitchener, Lenore and Albert Hardman, Hazel firth, all of Waterloo, Mary Israel, Harry and Dorothy Bulmer, all of Listowel. Rested at Edward R. Good Funeral Home, Kitchener, where funeral service was held Tuesday. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
