    Notes:

    Mrs. Mary Ernst, a lifelong resident of Waterloo, died suddenly yesterday morning at the home of her son, Eldon Ernst, 15 Fairview avenue, Kitchener, following an illness of only one week's duration. Heart trouble was the cause of death. The late Mrs. Ernst, who was in her 69th year, was born in Waterloo, and lived here all her life, with the exception of the last two years when she made her home with her son in Kitchener. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church. Her husband predeceased her 40 years ago. She is survived by one son, Eldon of Kitchener and two grandsons. One brother, Fred Schlote of Waterloo, and three sisters, Mrs. Peter Linker and the Misses Sophia and Emma Schlote, all of Waterloo, also survive. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock from the home of the Misses Schlote, 100 North King street, to the Waterloo Mount Hope cemetery.

    Mrs. Rebelski, Mrs. Urquhart, Mrs. Elena Ritz, Mrs. Louis Peine, Miss Deichert and Mr. A. Fraser attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Fred Ernst in Waterloo on Tuesday. The deceased was a daughter-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ernst, formerly proprietor of the Queens Hotel here. She resided here for a short time and then moved to Hanover where her husband died forty years ago. After the death of her husband she returned to her home town of Waterloo and for the past two years made her home with her only son, Mr. Eldon Ernst in Kitchener where she passed away quite suddenly at the age of 69 years. The deceased was a faithful adherent of the Lutheran church and is mourned by a large circle of friends.

    F. W. Eldon Ernst, 100 King street north, Waterloo, died at K-W Hospital last night. Mr. Ernst had been in ill health for the past few months. Death was due to a heart condition. Deceased was born in Hanover but resided in Kitchener and Waterloo practically all his life. He was an employee of the Mansfield Shirt Co., and was a member of Waterloo I.O.O.F. Lodge. His wife predeceased him 14 years ago and he is survived by two sons, both members of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Pilot Officer Robert Ward Ernst, on service overseas, and Aircraftman Jack Douglas Ernst, stationed at Cap-de-la-Madelaine, Que. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence to Mount Hope cemetery for internment. Rev. C. S. Roberts, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church will conduct the services. The remains will be at the Letter and Dreisinger Funeral Home until tomorrow morning.

    The death occurred at the K-W Hospital last Wednesday of F. W. Eldon Ernst, of Waterloo, at the age of 51 years. Though suffering with a heart ailment for some time he was only rushed to the hospital the day previous to his demise and death came very suddenly. The deceased was a son of the late Frederick Ernst, son of the late John Ernst of New Hamburg. His father died about fifty years ago at Hanover where the deceased was born. He came with his mother to Waterloo and resided there since childhood. The late Mr. Ernst was a nephew of Misses Minnie and Marion Ernst of this town. His wife predeceased him, but he leaves in bereavement two sons, Pilot Officer Robert Ernst, now serving with the R.C.A.F., overseas, and Aircraftsman Jack Ernst in training at Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon with service at his late residence, conducted by Rev. C. S. Roberts of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, and internment in Mount Hope Cemetery.

    Ernst, Robert Ward - Died, suddenly, at home, Saturday, March 31, 2001, in his 82nd year. He was born in Kitchener, Ont., May 2, 1919. He is lovingly remembered by Ruth, his beloved wife of 58 years; his three children; Janet, Karen (Harry) and Bob (Shelley) and grandchildren Heather (Dwayne), Bruce (Suzie), Elizabeth, Charlie, Sarah and Jamie. Also, by two great-grandchildren, Austin and Hannah. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Augsburg Lutheran Church, 224 Mill St. S., Brampton, Ont. Family visitation at the church, 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Augsburg Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
