  Alex McLeod, Sr., Passes A well-known resident of the Ayr community, Alex McLeod, Sr., passed away at his home on the 10th concession of Blenheim on Tuesday night following a heart attack. In his 81st year, Mr. McLeod had been in ill health for four years. A native of Stayner, Ont., he was a moulder and came here 49 years ago to work at the Watson foundry. After following his trade with this firm for some 20 years, he purchased the farm in the west end of the village now owned by his son, Alex Jr. Later he farmed in both South and North Dumfries for some years prior to his retirement. While residing in Ayr, Mr. Mc-Leod took a keen interest in municipal affairs and served several terms on council. He was a member of the Orange and Foresters orders and an adherent of the Baptist Church. Only a few months ago, in December, Mr. and Mrs. McLeod happily marked their. 55th wedding anniversary. Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Alex, Jr., of Ayr and Donald of Galt; three daughters, Mrs. William Tomblin (Agnes), Paris; Mrs. Charles Harrison (Jean), Galt, and Mrs. James Runstedler (Alice), Preston; also 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son, William, predeceased him. Funeral arrangements are being completed.
